Network Engineer (Data Center)-Colorado

Tintri is looking for a seasoned network engineer for a large-scale data center used by engineering and other teams within Tintri/DDN organization. You will work in building a robust Engineering Data Center and continually improve services and processes to ensure maximum uptime during Tintri's rapid growth.


  • Participate in Tintri datacenter planning/deployment operations, network architecture design and engineering.

  • Integrate communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.

  • Coordinate with the DDN IT and infrastructure support team to continuously improve the service levels with growing needs and teams the data center serves

  • Monitor data center infrastructure and take ownership of network services like VPN, VLANs, Subnets and network security requirements.

  • Provide tier support across organizations.

  • Evaluate new products, perform network problem resolution.

  • Implement approved DDN/Tintri methods of procedure and Implements and assists in designing corporate standards, develops and implements network enhancements and makes recommendations for improvement.

  • Support the unifying efforts of the whole DDN/Tintri networks spearheaded by the DDN IT organization

  • Coach less experienced staff.

  • Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.

  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

  • Specify standards for selecting equipment and services. Negotiate with vendors and obtain optimal terms.

  • Maintain the Data Center appearance and functionality. Present to customers as a competitive advantage.

  • Assist in the development and documentation of technical standards.

Required background/skills

  • Minimum three (3) years network engineering experience

  • Minimum two (2) years Data network experience

  • Strong technical skills in Cisco networking, Linux, Windows, Virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V)

  • CCNP/CCNA certification a strong plus

  • Familiarity with Juniper network switches/routers configuration, architecture is a plus

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience

  • Must be willing to work outside the normal work hours (on-call) on rotation or as needed

Preferred (Nice to have)

  • Fluency in VMware and Hyper-V, SDN, public and private cloud networks

  • Have a can-do attitude, willing to learn and grow with the evolving needs of the data center operations team

  • Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl)
