We Need Someone Like You
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will wake up every morning with the ability to prepare bids with values from anywhere between $100K and $40 million that make lives and communities better. Your diligence with bid preparation, final bid tabulation and client relationship management will make clients want to work with you again to produce impressive results.
Your Typical Day Might Look Like This
You will prepare HVAC, plumbing, piping and sheet metal estimates, including hard bid and conceptual.
You will review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
You will participate in pre-bid meetings and assist team in the development of bid strategy to win projects.
You will maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current accurate information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
You will build and maintain effective relationships with client partnerships, including being a point of contact to outside vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors. This may also include attending client sponsored events.
You will partner with regional, project and estimating management on constructability review, workforce requirements, schedule, and other trade impacts.

You Will Bring This to the Table
High school diploma or GED is required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering, preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in multi trade sheet metal estimating required. Additional experience in full mechanical (HVAC, piping, and plumbing) estimating preferred.
Prior experience working with QuickPen, Autobid, Quote Express mechanical or similar software preferred.
Basic knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control; technical knowledge of Mechanical Construction, HVAC, piping plumbing, and sheet metal etc.
Prior experience estimating of large sheet metal projects ranging from $100,000-$40 million.
Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems, project documents and their impact on an estimate.

Ability to be self-sufficient and work under minimal supervision. Must be capable of facilitating a bid process through its completion.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills, such as diplomacy, persuasion, etc. are essential to develop and foster effective professional relationships.
Ability to use discretion and make judgments on relative significance of bid components. Keen understanding of terms and conditions that impact bid strategy.
Must work in a collaborative team environment and ability to enthusiastically represent the company’s core values, mission, history, and culture.
Operate with a strong sense of urgency and work with proficiency to deliver results.
Strong analytical skills combined with resourcefulness to find all routes to the most effective results
Proficiency of the following computer programs: MS Excel, Bluebeam and Procore.
