Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Assist with the oversight of the entire mechanical engineering team to ensure that engineering solutions are of the highest quality and technically sound.
Participate in formal and informal design reviews to ensure compliance to requirements and quality of work.
Review tolerance analysis and implementation of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
Assist with the allocation of engineering resources on a weekly basis taking into account project priority.
Support the hiring effort for Mechanical Engineering.
Support the review and evaluation of personnel performance.
Organize and lead Mechanical Engineering team meetings.
Department and Process Improvements
Identify and implement continuous improvement efforts for the department function, efficiency, and work environment.
Define, create, and implement training for Mechanical Engineers.
Generate and revise Syncroness documentation for processes and procedures.
Support the proposal creation process with review of content and generation of cost estimates utilizing Syncroness tools.
Interface with high-level customer contacts to support manpower estimates, budgetary requirements, and support the development of timelines for project proposals.
Handle a wide variety of challenging work situations with considerable latitude for un-reviewed actions and decisions on a broad range of topics.
Represent the organization in outside discussions, technical forums, and capability discussions with customers.
Adhere to Syncroness Quality System processes.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, from an accredited college or university.
8-15 years of Engineering or Management experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
5+ years of experience with CAD (preferably SOLIDWORKS and/or PTC Creo) in a product design and development position
4+ years of leadership experience
Hands-on experience with project management
Demonstrated ability to accurately estimate the cost of a wide variety of projects
Demonstrated ability to impart critical thinking, decision making, and mentoring in the process of leading a technical team
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university
