Primary Purpose Of The Position:
Leads Start-up/greenfield projects for Ball North and Central America. Responsible for developing executing, and managing project plan. Includes site-set up, line layouts, stakeholder management, training, staffing plan, and equipment. Will facilitate and counsel all BPNCA Functions for Operational and Engineering projects, plant/customer projects and initiatives as directed.
Essential Responsible Areas:
Will work with project stakeholders in due diligence, sit-set-up, customer interaction, training, building/equipment set-up, and all other stages of operational set-up.
Ensures all personnel involved in a project, to include but limited to project team, plant personnel and contractors are aware of and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Directs activities involved with the planning and implementation of assigned projects of all types.
Lead and coordinates feasibility and pre-AFE planning studies.
Drive operational input, planning, and execution for Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) process.
Gathers, analyzes, brings together, and presents information from the customer, manufacturing, quality, and all other appropriate business areas.
Establishes and monitors project schedules; makes use of the critical path approach to scheduling; revises project schedules as required to maintain project goals, develop responsibility plans and startup production plans.
Keeps BPNCA leadership informed of project status, including progress, problems, cost, and schedule through regularly published project status reports.
Effectively builds and leads all disciplines of project teams, incorporating engineering, manufacturing, customer, and other department’s personnel.
Establishes quality documentation including but not limited to change management, policies, procedures and work instructions.
Extensive and innovative use of the computer for project planning, scheduling, accounting, communications, etc.
Project follow up to assure the project is meeting intended goals for quality, cost and schedule.
Utilizes industry and non-industry best practices to establish and deploy standards across Ball’s plant network, functions, and customers.
Apply learnings from past projects experience and best practices in BPNCA network
Position Requirement & competencies:
Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education in Accounting
Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering, Business, Supply Chain education or work-related experience
Job related experience for 6 years minimum
Customer qualification and network optimization process experience
Significant training plan development and execution experience
