Apex Life Sciences is looking for a Cage Wash Technician for our Contractresearch organization in Westminster, Colorado. This will be a 6 monthcontract to hire position and the ideal candidate is someone who isself-motivated individual with a positive work ethic and capable ofmaintaining industry standards. This is a part-time role that would averagearound 25 hours a week.Job Summary and Essential Functions:The cage wash technician is responsible for providing support to ourclient's animal research facility. This includes daily sanitization andpreparation of animal housing equipment, including operation of a large bulkrack washer. Individuals must demonstrate strong communication skills and beable to work efficiently in individual and team settings.Work area is located in an animal research facilityPosition involves daily exposure to laboratory animals and/or their wasteproductsDaily operation and maintenance of a commercial cagewasherCleans and sanitizes animal cages, cage lids, water bottles, andancillary animal housing supplies and equipment (racks, feed bins) inaccordance with SOPsCleans cagewash facility, food and bedding storage area, ante- and/oraccess rooms, and associated Vivarium equipment to maintain facility in neatand orderly conditionPrepares housing animals materials to include cages, water bottles, animalfeed, metabolic racks and other ancillary equipmentReports abnormal facility conditions to the managerSanitizes all deliveries (animal crates, equipment, materials, feed,bedding, etc.) for passage into animal facilityWorking Conditions:Must be able to work in a research facility setting where laboratory animalsare housedWork will require PPE (personal protective equipment)Ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and efficientlyGood teamwork skillsMust be able to stand for long periods of timeMust be able to perform all physical aspects required of position includingroutine lifting items up to 50 lbs. and moving racks or large items on wheelsAbility to communicate effectivelyComputer proficiency (E-mail, Microsoft Word and Excel)Minimum Education / Experience Requirements:High School DiplomaCollege courses in Animal Science or Husbandry or equivalent professionalexperience are highly desirable0-3 years of work experienceEEO EmployerApex is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
