Quality Assurance Engineer IRES - SAFB
Description of Duties:
The Quality Assurance Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
Be responsible for performing daily operational activities for the Quality Assurance process in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
Execute Quality Assurance tasks in adherence with documented policies, processes, and procedures.
Perform product and process audits including audit preparation and in-briefing, conducting of compliance audits, creating audit report, documenting findings, work with other engineers for resolution, conducting verifications, tracking findings to closure, and present audit report to management.
Receive direction, guidance, monitoring and control of this function from the QA Infrastructure Lead and others under the IRES contract.
The successful candidate will:
Demonstrated excellence in verbal, written communications and presentation skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project) skills and experience.
Ability to operate and multi-task in a challenging and dynamic environment while demonstrating planning, coordination and organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor in interacting with a wide variety of people.
Possess ability to work independently with little oversight or supervision and as a team member.
Estimated travel: Up to 10% of time
This position is located at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO.
This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 6-8 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 4-6 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 0-2 years of general experience.
Must have at least 4 years of directly related experience to Quality Assurance to include project and process auditing
The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of project management lifecycle and risk management.
The employee must have the physical ability to balance and occasionally work from ladders, scaffolding and elevated surfaces, and below raised floors, climbing stairs, walking, squatting, kneeling, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Candidate must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Possession of QA certifications, a related degree, ITIL Process experience, ITIL Intermediate Certification for Service Transition, QA Auditing, Engineering, System Life-cycle Methodologies will be useful.
Root Cause Analysis, or Failure Mode Effect Analysis.
Working knowledge of Risk Management Systems, ISO 9001, AS 9100 with practical application experience will be beneficial.
Knowledge of Missile Defense, Software Engineering, Engineering Services, DoD communications systems, or process improvement initiatives will be useful
