POSITION Health and Safety ManagerDUTIES: As a Health and Safety Manager you will identify, develop, andimplement programs and activities necessary to prevent incidents likely toresult in personal injuries or property damage. This person will maintaincompliance with applicable laws and regulations and direct loss controlfunctions through sound security practices and effective claims management.* Review various OEM and Utility drawings to find the optimal balance betweenlow installed cost while maintaining operability and maintainability* Develop and implement safety management systems, which include writtenstandards, training requirements, monitoring/auditing elements, andcorrective action steps. Systems shall exceed compliance and createvalue-added enhancement to plant operations whenever feasible* Represent the Company in loss prevention and claims management activitieswith workers compensation boards and general liability insurance carriers* Manage Industrial Hygiene related programs and upgrade with continuousimprovement as the objective. Programs include but are not limited to HearingConservation, Radiation Safety, Respiratory Protection, Heat Stress,and Drug-Free Workplace, among others* Establish and maintain effective standardized tools to monitor the successof safety management systems and identify opportunities for improvement* Provide personal leadership and professional guidance to operations inperformance of safety management requirements including incidentinvestigation, safety training, and communications, inspection andauditing, hazard assessment, and implementation of site business safety plans* Manage compliance with the Contractor Safety Policy* Provide direction and support to the facility joint union and managementsafety committee. Provide oversight and direction to union safetyrepresentatives on safety policies and technical safety issues* Coordinate and participate in safety committee meetings* Plan and coordinate safety training* Supervise, coordinate and conduct plant compliance audits and physicalinspections* Work with facility Human Resource Directors to manage the EVRAZ SafetyAccountability Policy* Maintain records and documentation required by national or provincialregulations* Evaluate, specify and audit the proper application of Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE)* Maintain and update as needed existing cardinal safety programs includingFall Protection, Mobile Equipment Operation, Lockout/Tag-out/Tryout,Crane Operations, Confined Space Entry, and Electrical Safety* Attend professional training classes and periodic business associationmeetings* Conduct and supervise incident investigations (Track completion ofcorrective actions identified through audits or investigations* Directly interact with the Plant Operations Managers and Senior Managementstaff members in the determination of loss prevention objectives and thedevelopment of objective attainment plansREQUIREMENTS:* B.S. in Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Human ResourceManagement or related field* 5 - 10 years of experience in managing a comprehensive loss prevention/control program* Experiences in Workers Compensation Claims Management* Experience in heavy manufacturing (specifically steel making rolling)* Professional certification* Experience in Safety Management Systems and Risk Assessment.OTHER REQUIREMENTS* Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.* Strong written and oral communication skills* Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to affect positivebehavior in others* Professional certification**All applicants must be legally able to work in the USA without sponsorship.**WAGE: Negotiable DOESHIFTS: Discuss with EmployerJOB SITE: Pueblo CoBENEFITS: Full company benefits, package to include medical, dental,vision, defined pension plan, profit sharing, and 401K matching.APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: If you meet the minimum requirements for thisposi
