Job SpecificationsCLOSING DATE: This position will close on October 21, 2018.LOCATION: Pueblo, COPRIMARY FUNCTION:Support and assist with various Distribution Planning projects as assignedwithin the Company's Transmission & Distribution Planning Department.These projects will be assigned consistent with the Company's InternshipProgram with an emphasis on developing an understanding of the Company'smultiple business units and enhancing the intern's ability to applyhis/her engineering education in a professional environment.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Distribution Planning Supervisor with furtherdirection and support from Engineers within this team.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Project assignments may include:*Reconcile electric system model database with equipment design and operatingdata*Includes line impedance, protection system, voltage and reactive powercontrol data*Assist with distribution system modeling and planning studies and associateddocumentation*Engineer and design electrical system projects and upgrades*Develop and coordinate equipment standards and maintenance procedures*Provide engineering support to Engineers, Drafting Technicians and othertechnical groups*Assist with project constructionADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*Additional projects may be assigned as needed.*Adherence to all safety policies, practices, and procedures to assure asafe working environment*Assist and support the other engineering and maintenance activities withinthedepartment*Support safety, diversity, and social responsibility goals of thedepartment, business unit and corporationWORKING RELATIONSHIPS:*Maintain professional working relationships with internal and externaldepartments, utilities, customers and agencies.*Promote a collaborative working environment with co-workers.EXPERIENCE:*Experience with connecting to field installed equipment via laptop computerisdesirable.*Prior experience at utility or industrial company desirable.EDUCATION:*College sophomore or above working toward Bachelor's degree in ElectricalEngineering, preferably with a Power or Control Systems emphasis.*Minimum GPA of 2.5.KNOWLEDGE:*Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles.*Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.SKILLS/ABILITY/OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:*Strong verbal and written communication skills.*Ability to prepare and give presentations.8Detail oriented and organized.*Ability to perform work efficiently, learning to monitor effort inaccordance with deadlines.*Employ standard engineering methods and practices in performing work.*Ability to concurrently work on multiple projects independently or as part ofa team.*Motivated self-starter.CERTIFICATIONS/CREDENTIALS:None required.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:*Participation in the Company's Industry Orientation Experiences, whichwill include some travel and overnight stays.*Prepare and present a synopsis of experience with the Company at the end ofthe internship.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*Applicant must be able to perform the essential job functions of the positionwith or without accommodation.The information contained in this position description describes the generalnature and level of work being performed in this job.
