SUMMARY:SNC Space Systems is looking for a Quality Assurance Inspector capable ofdimensionally inspecting high-tolerance spacecraft components using a CMM,Romer, Laser Tracker or hand equipment. These individuals will need to behighly adaptive and able to respond to ever-changing priorities amongstmultiple spacecraft and component programs. Experience and understanding ofthe theories of metrology is needed to be successful in this position.Experience Zeiss Calypso is highly desirable.Performs inspection duties to insure that incoming parts, in-processproduction and shipped product fulfill all SNC quality requirements.SNC Space Systems is looking for a Quality Assurance Inspector capable ofdimensionally inspecting high-tolerance spacecraft components using aFaro-Laser system, Romer, CMM or hand equipment. These individuals willneed to be highly adaptive and able to respond to ever-changing prioritiesamongst multiple spacecraft and component programs. Experience andunderstanding of the theories of metrology is needed to be successful in thisposition. Experience Zeiss Calypso is highly desirable.Performs inspection duties to insure that incoming parts, in-processproduction and shipped product fulfill all SNC quality requirements.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Receiving and Production InspectionInspect and file/record incoming part history records.Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of rawmaterials, components, and sub-assemblies per Inspection Plans, drawingsand other specification requirements.Read and interpret specifications and part prints.Initiate nonconformance reports (NC and NCMRs) as requiredEnsure calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment is up to date priorto conducting inspection operations.Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions.Communicate with project engineers to ensure compliance with the final productrequirements.Document information on the computer in various databases and other internalprogramsParticipates in in-process and final inspection as needed.Trains collateral duty InspectorsPerform other miscellaneous duties as assignedFollow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. They do notnecessarily reflect all duties and responsibilities of a position.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:High School Diploma or equivalent2-5 years' experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control environment.3-5 year's experience in aviation or spacecraft preferredPrevious mechanical inspection background with ability to use Faro-LaserSystem, CMM (preferably Zeiss), Romer, Laser Tracker and basic handmeasurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges etc.)As required by site, knowledge of and ability to use a wide range of higherprecision measuring or Non-Destructive Evaluation equipment.Minimum (8) years' experience in mechanical inspection and inspectiontechniques.Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Experience with MS Excel and Word.Proficient with geometry and trigonometry (machine shop math).Knowledge
