Sierra Nevada Corporation Principal Electrical Engineer - Space Systems Group in Louisville, Colorado

SNC's Space Systems is looking for an energetic and innovative electricalengineer to support our expanding efforts in both manned and unmannedspacecraft. Candidate will design and develop rugged, high reliabilityelectronic equipment for use on spacecraft with applications that includeservo mechanisms, electro-mechanical systems, power management,communications, telemetry and health monitoring. This individual will createconceptual designs, perform circuit analysis, developed detaileddesigns, oversee fabrication and test of development equipment andparticipate in reviews with customers and suppliers. This individual willcoordinate with procurement and production personnel during design andfabrication to develop an effective design for both performance andmanufacturability. Candidates shall have experience with electronic design andanalysis software (Pspice, Simulink), Microsoft Word, Excel, andPowerPoint. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and possessan understanding of a broad range of electronics, including system levelapplications. The work of ourSpace Systems team not only supports the U.S. government (includingNASA), but also commercial customers and international organizations.Must haves:Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 14+ years of experienceSupport and mentor Electrical Engineering team through the development ofspaceflight electronicsWorking knowledge within the space community and electronic designrequirementsKnowledge of interface and design documentation such as interface controldrawings, functional block diagrams, and schematicsPCB design, layout, and fabrication documentation skillsKnowledge of FPGA development processesExperience problem solving for new electronic product designs and as well asexisting productsOriginate specifications, drawings, control documents, verification andvalidation plans, procedures, reports, and other documentation insupport of design and development activitiesStrong understanding of Space Flight Requirements associated with Electronics(EE parts selection, worst case analysis, derating, etc.)Assembly, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components accordingto engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronicsDesign and develop electronic units from concept, qualification, and deliveryPreferred:Supervisory experience is preferredProficiency with simulations through functional and logical models and systemanalysisBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryExperience composing and analyzing Electrical Load Analysis (ELA),circuit modeling, simulation, and analysisFamiliarity with design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field(HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightening (IEL)Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include,but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection,manufacturing, and production processesUnderstanding of Electro Magnetic Effects (EME) to include, ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI)Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic captureUnderstanding of the printed circuit board layout process and toolsSpace flight electronics design experience preferredMotion control electronics experience desiredThe ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and stepsFrequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to includefinger and hand dexterityRarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.Working Conditions:Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures,
