We are seeking an Engineering Technician with an Associate's degree in arelated field of study and at least 4 years of relevant experience. You'll beresponsible for constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing,and maintaining our equipment, components, devices, or systems. The work of ourSpace Systems team not only supports the U.S. government (includingNASA), but also commercial customers and international organizations.Primary Responsibilities Include:Executes building and testing of flight hardware along with troubleshootingactivities in accordance with established policies, procedures, workinstructions and specific customer requirementsCompletes parts lists, checks drawings in accordance with released engineeringWork includes, but is not limited to, dismantling, repairing,fabricating, assembling and erecting structural components for GSE andflight hAssists as required during inspection verification ormodification/maintenance proceduresHas experience in fabrication work including metal, aluminum, compositeand plasticsHas basic knowledge of cutting, drilling and repair workExperience in two part compounds and bonding processesExperience with overhead cranes, gantries and powered industrial equipmentHas mechanical assembly experienceUnderstands the use of basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers,height gages)Proficient in MS Office SuiteExperience working in MRPExtensive hand tool experienceAbility to read and follow complex written instructionsMust-haves:Associate's degree in a related field of study and at least 4 years ofrelevant experienceA higher level degree may substitute for experienceRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required educationAbility to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings,diagrams, schematics and manualsAbility to work with standard laboratory test equipment, other measurementequipment, hand tools, and power toolsPreferred:Previous experience and/or certifications within the aerospace and defenseindustryPrevious experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with AutoCAD or other 3-D CAD softwareIMPORTANT NOTICE:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S.citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual asdefined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the requiredauthorizations from the U.S. Department of State.At Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technologyand best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
