Sierra Nevada Corporation Electrical Engineer III - Space Systems Group in Louisville, Colorado

SNC's Space Systems Group is looking for an energetic and innovativeelectrical engineer to support our expanding efforts designing and deliveringunmanned spacecraft electronics. Electrical engineers at Sierra NevadaCorporation research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy andimprove cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range fromadvanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integratedaircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize anddesign new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analogand digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.The work of our Space Systems team not only supports the U.S. government(including NASA), but also commercial customers and internationalorganizations. Learn more about SSGCandidate will work within a small team throughout the design and developmentof rugged, high reliability electronic equipment for use on spacecraft withapplications that include servo mechanisms, electro-mechanical systems,power management, communications, telemetry and health monitoring. Thisindividual will create conceptual designs, perform circuit analysis,developed detailed designs, oversee fabrication and test of flight anddevelopment equipment as well as participate in reviews with customers andsuppliers. This individual will coordinate with procurement and productionpersonnel during design and fabrication to arrive at an effective solutionthat meets customer requirements. Candidate will have experience with commondesign and analysis tools including LTSpice/Pspice, Simulink, MicrosoftWord, Excel, and PowerPoint. Candidates will have excellent communicationskills and possess an understanding of a broad range of electronics,including system level applications.Primary Responsibilities:Facilitate and foster innovative product designNavigate problem solving for new electronic product designs and as well asexisting productsSpecification development, review, and requirements verification planningSchematic developmentManufacturing and Test Readiness Review supportProduct support through design, manufacturing, test and system integrationWork with Systems Engineering to ensure that the system level requirements aremet through specification development and hardware developmentMust-haves:Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other relateddiscipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experienceExperience composing and analyzing Electrical Load Analysis (ELA),circuit modeling, simulation, and analysisKnowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include,but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection,manufacturing, and production processesExperience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic captureUnderstanding of the printed circuit board layout process and toolsExposure tosimulations through functional and logical models and system analysisDemonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practicesUnderstanding of Computer Aided Engineering toolsExperience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsWorking knowledge of electronic design requirements including:EE parts Selection for Space Flight ProductsWorst Case AnalysisParts Stress AnalysisDigital and Analog circuit design and simulationInterface control drawings, functional block diagrams, and schematicsPCB design, layout, and fabrication documentationPreferred:An understanding of electronics integrated into electro-mechanical systemsBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryThe ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
