Element Materials Technology Test Technician in Longmont, Colorado
Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician for join our growing team. This Test Technician will be contributing to Environmental simulation doing Vibration, Thermal and Temp/Humidity Testing.
Designs and conducts environmental simulation tests such as Vibration, Temperature/Humidity, Thermal Shock, Salt Spray,
Blowing Sand and Dust, Blowing Rain, Solar Radiation, Shock, Vibration, HALT, IP and NEMA Spray, Drop, Compression,
Cargo Bounce, Accelerated Weathering, Acceleration, Altitude, High Vacuum, Overpressure/Decompression, and Hydrostatic Pressure
Utilizes sensors, module based software, and control theory to develop complete data acquisition and control systems
Documents test setup, progression, and results. Organizes and documents data for each assigned project in the project’s test log
Maintains in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation
Interacts with customers during the testing process, periodically assists with troubleshooting and development and schedule modifications
Researches and orders equipment based on immediate needs while maintaining facility standards
Leads troubleshooting efforts required during commissioning phase of test program
Performs preventive maintenance on test and support equipment
Performs responsibilities in compliance with all Company policies including but not limited to Terms and Conditions, Trade
Compliance, treatment of others, moral code of conduct, and Employee Handbook
Performs responsibilities in adherence to all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to safety, environment, and corporate governance
Applies the principals of 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) in the performance of daily work responsibilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work area
Abides by and ensures that all duties are performed in accordance with all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE), Trade
Compliance, and Quality practices, policies, and regulations
Maintains customer confidentiality at all times
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Strong mechanical aptitude is necessary for the performance of position responsibilities
Self-disciplined and self-motivated
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to maintain professional candor at all times and remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs.
Strong and effective interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect
Ability to interface with customers to determine their needs and provide a satisfactory outcome
Experience working with Quality Management Systems (i.e. ISO 17025 and ITAR Regulations) and Trade Compliance
Regulations (i.e. ITAR or EAR)
Proven ability to create and maintain strong professional relationships built on trust
Ability to interpret and adhere to the requirements of customer specifications
Independent thought and problem solving abilities including mechanical creativity and resourcefulness
Ambition to be productive individually and as part of a team
Exhibit professional sense of organization, cleanliness, and presentation
Must have valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record under Element’s policy, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
