Oracle Solution Test Manager in Longmont, Colorado

Responsible for a team that develops, applies and maintains quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.

As a manager in the technical/process QA division, you will lead a team that designs, installs and evaluates quality control methods and systems. You will also develop standards and procedures to provide quality guidance and methods.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of quality assurance. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.

This is a hands-on management position that will involve establishing, growing and guiding a new team focused on solution-level testing as part of a new project to rebuild Oracle’s market-leading Session Border Controller (SBC) product using Cloud Native technologies. This position is to specifically support the cloud-native SBC initiative following an Agile CI/CD process, serving as both the team manager and scrum master.

_Preferred Qualifications:_

  • 10 years of software engineering experience with networking or telecommunications systems, specifically with SIP/VOIP and multi-media IP.

  • 2 years experience in a technical lead or management role guiding a geographically distributed (or offshore) testing team is required.

  • A deep understanding of software development in a team environment, and a track record of shipping software on time is required.

  • Experience performing functional testing of software across a broad range of next generation IP technologies, including VOIP protocol, internetworking, session replication technologies.

  • Experience developing and executing test of various components for performance, stability and scaling capabilities as well as automating test suites for ongoing testing of product.

  • Experience developing standards and procedures to provide quality guidance methods, analyzing test results and recommending corrective actions.

  • Experience/Knowledge in the following technical areas is required:

o Experience with VoIP technologies based on SIP protocol.

o Experience with Networking and IP Security Technologies.

o Experience testing highly available/redundant software.

o Experience testing telecommunications software.

o Test Automation experience using TCL, Perl, or Python.

o Experience with Linux, Virtualization, Network Administration

o Experience creating the product test environment independently

o Experience with networking protocols or networking software development, specifically IPv4/IPv6, TLS/DTLS, SIP, RTP/RTCP, SRTP, DNS, SNMP, ICE, IPsec/IKE, SDP offer answer model, DNS, L2/L3, LI (X1/X2/X3), ICMP

o Expert in writing Test Plans, Test procedures and Release plans.

o Strong trouble shooting capabilities targeting complicated problems in remote system

  • These skills are not required but nice to have:

o Experience developing/deploying cloud-native applications utilizing cloud-native technologies, specifically Docker containers & Kubernetes

o Experience with other cloud-native technologies such as Kibana, EFK, Prometheus, Jaeger & cloud-native databases

o Experience developing software following Agile and CI/CD processes including automation testing development

o Experience as a scrum master

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven track record of fast learning, innovation, strategic thought leadership and teamwork.

  • Ability to navigate large organizations, develop relationships and build network.

  • 4-year bachelor degree required. Masters degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
