MATHESON Tri-Gas Inc Senior Technician in Longmont, Colorado

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, evaluating and estimating cost for returned material repairs and upgrades, as well as performing the work to repair and upgrade customer owned product, for ultra-high purity gas handling Equipment & Purification manufacturing. This individual will be based in the Longmont, CO branch.

Position Accountabilities:

  • Evaluate customer returned product to determine material required to repair or upgrade product.

  • Estimate time required to complete product repair or upgrade.

  • Troubleshoot and repair customer owned product.

  • Upgrade customer owned product.

  • Test customer owned product, to new product specifications.

  • Escalate unresolved issues to management.

  • Keep comprehensive records of all activities.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to utilize the basic Microsoft Office programs (MSWord, MS Project, MSExcel and MS Outlook).

  • Must be an excellent team member (good communication skills, respectful of others and able to collaborate on solutions).

  • Ability to read and understand design and assembly drawings, Bills of Material and P&IDs.

  • Problem solving and critical analysis skills.

  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.

  • Basic knowledge of gas handling product components (gauges, regulators, pressure transducers, Mass Flow Controllers, Mass Flow Meters, etc).

  • Able to take direction when given, yet work autonomously when required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Intermediate-advanced problem solving and critical analysis skills.

  • Intermediate-advanced mechanical and electrical trouble shooting and maintenance skills

  • Intermediate-advanced knowledge of product components (gauges, regulators, pressure transducers, Mass Flow Controllers, Mass Flow Meters, etc).

  • Basic understanding of how to select proper fittings for unique applications.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with routine (to ultra-high purity (UHP) gas handling Equipment) components and assemblies.

Preferred Experience:

  • Utilization of drawing vaults.

  • Accessing information management systems.

  • Process improvement projects (Six Sigma, Lean, etc)

  • Intermediate-advanced knowledge of product components (gauges, regulators, pressure transducers, Mass Flow Controllers, Mass Flow Meters, etc).

  • Basic understanding of how to select proper fittings for unique applications.
