In return, we will pay you well and offer youthe opportunity to go as far in your career as you want to go.The Inbound Logistics Director-Grocery plans, organizes, and directs allinbound logistics activities between McLane Grocery Distribution and itssuppliers. They coordinate and maximize profitable backhaul activity betweendivisions and suppliers, define resource requirements, technical andsystems requirements, and develop opportunities to drive inbound efficiencyprograms and income-generating inbound activities for McLane Grocery divisionsto ensure the merchandising income budget for inbound traffic and backhaulingis met or exceeded.Work with leadership to develop an action plan with measureable goals andclear accountabilities as they relate to managing the inbound freight forMcLane Grocery Distribution.Identify our largest suppliers by volume and schedule meetings with suppliersto begin building a shipper profile for each and to evaluate their customerpick-up program for enhancement/improvements.Identify all gaps between what we are currently backhauling and what we shouldbe backhauling.Analyze the profitability, negotiate pick-up agreements where required,analyze division resource needs and incorporate this into a plan of executionto grow our backhaul revenue substantially.Recreate the McLane Grocery Distribution LTL Routing Guidethis is a processwhere we will pick one national and one local LTL carrier, as well as analternate for each, as the preferred carrier for each vendor to ship on bydivision. This allows us to build volume on certain carriers. We will thenbring the preferred carriers in, define what their unloading program willbe, and build the volume on those carriers with the most favorable terms.This position has additional duties. Special projects may be assigned at theposition supervisor's discretion.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:Have a bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or arelated field.Have at least 5 years experience managing a team and implementing complexprojects.Have a solid transportation background.Have a broad knowledge of all areas of the business.Candidates may be subject to a background check and drug screen, inaccordance with applicable laws.McLane Company, Inc. is committed to hiring and retaining a diverseworkforce.
