Seagate US LLC Automation Electrical Controls Engineer (Entry-level) in Longmont, Colorado

About our group:The Equipment Development Engineering (EDE) group develops both theequipment, and the processes for Seagate production equipment platforms. TheSeagate Longmont facility is one of Seagate's largest RandD centers forsoftware, electronics, process development, and product development. TheEDE team in Longmont is responsible for deploying numerous software,electrical, mechanical systems into the Seagate production assembly and testlines to demonstrate production capability and support HOD programdevelopment, test, and productionAbout the role - you will:Focus on automation electrical controls design and developmentDevelop control solutions for automated test and assembly systemsDesign system electrical controls for robotic systems including Input-output(1/0), system control logic, sensor selection and implementation,cables, safety controls (Software and Hardware), pneumaticscontrols, and visioDefine processes for how we develop and deploy software and hardwareupgrades, including creating schematics and documenting procedures.Coordinate and communicate effectively with our global team. You may berequired to travel internationally or domestically to support project needs.Perform failure analysis, document and communicate failure modes then deployany new fixes and improvements accordingly.You may also work to develop equipment software using scripting languages likePython and compiled languages such as C#. As you gain experience, you willhave the opportunity to delve deeper into automation code todevelop/troubleshoot more components, and investigate and define processimprovements.About you:Strong communication skills, personable, and comfortable working acrossengineering disciplinesb(software, electrics, mechanical).Willingness to learn and take initiative.Good documentation skills.Your experience includes:Pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering,Mechanical Engineering,Electrical, Aeronautical Engineering, Robotics, Aeronautics, or related field.Ability to problem-solve and perform detailed failure analysis.You May Also Have:Familiarity with FPGA and microprocessor technologies (ARM, Atmel AVR,NIOS, DSP)Familiarity with SolidWorksKnowledge of Python, and any of the C based languages (C, C++, C#)Use of data analytics tools such as MATLAB, JMP, or SciLabExperience and familiarity with Assembly languageLocation:Our Longmont product-design campus is nestled against the foothills withexceptional views of the RockyMountains.
