Applied Research Associates, Inc. Staff Embedded Electrical Eng 1 in Littleton, Colorado

Successful candidates will have a chance to support research in areas ofelectromechanical systems, less-than-lethal systems, human injury,acoustics, chemical/biological defense, specialized materialsdevelopment, thermal protection systems, blast effects, ballisticpenetration/fragmentation, or test planning and statistical analysis. What you'll do as a Staff Embedded Electrical Engineer * Analyze project requirements and design hardware and software solutions * Work with electrical engineering staff to design, fabricate, andtest systems requiring embedded software * Develop embedded software for the fabricated systems * Test and troubleshoot embedded systems to ensure compliance with systemrequirements * Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions * Assist in estimating labor and materials required to complete assignedtasks * Prepare oral and written reports as necessary Position Requirements * BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent andtwo (2) years of experience in a related position * Skilled in C and Python scripting languages or similar * Industry experience with embedded Linux or RTOS running onmicrocontrollers * Innovative, "can-do" mindset bringing new ideas to the table * US Citizen; able to get a security clearance Additional Skill Preferences * Good verbal communication skills. * Must provide a positive influence to technical project teams * Experience troubleshooting digital systems with logic analyzers orequivalent * Experience programming popular microcontrollers like Atmel,Microchip, or similar * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics/layout drawings * Ability to create simple circuit schematics * Familiarity with Altium or similar for printed circuit board layout * Familiarity with MS Office environment (Outlook, Excel, MS Word) Company .and.
