We are seeking a candidate to lead the development and execution of small to medium satellite production for Lockheed Martin Space.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:

• Products will range from small to medium sized satellites supporting multiple mission capabilities in LEO, MEO and GEO

• Production rate of 25+ satellites per year for medium sized satellites and/or 100+ per year for small sized satellites

• Potential customers include US Government, Civil, Commercial and International

• Budget responsibility is consistent with leading a 125-150 team of engineers and technicians and includes over $40M in capital investment

• Must be a US citizen and possess an active TS or SCI Security clearance or ability to obtain

Basic Qualifications:

• Significant space vehicle bus and payload integration and test experience

• Space product manufacturing in a high rate environment relative to the industry

• Lean manufacturing experience

• Production facility and production line layout and optimization

• Requirements definition for mechanical and electrical ground support equipment

• Start-up like experience working transition from development to production

• Development of integration and test plans including transition from design qualification to production

• High volume satellite production (12+ products per year) on a mixed model product line

• Understanding of latest digital technologies including automation, data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence to drive productivity

Desired Skills:

• Mid-career professional with 10+ years of relevant experience

• Multi-disciplined experience in engineering and operations roles

• Demonstrated leadership experience executing the production of 12+ space products per year

• Team oriented capable of working up, down and across the organization

• Innovative thinker with strong business acumen, able to develop business cases that justify investments and produce financial results

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field from an accredited college, or equivalent
