Quality Control/Inspection Technician III
In this role you will perform non-routine moderate to complex visual, mechanical, functional and dimensional inspection on a variety of new products using various test equipment. The Technician will decide whether or not the parts conform to specifications, document these decisions and supporting data. This position will support the Customer Innovation Center to incorporate customer-designed products into the 3D Systems contract manufacturing portfolio, much like an OEM would develop internal products through a product development process.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Perform inspection tasks involving the use of a wide variety of test instruments and equipment to measure the values and record functional operation of components.
Determine acceptability and recommend disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures.
Verify sample compliance to blueprints/drawings and material specifications.
Participate in continuous learning and problem solving.
Generate Non-conformance Reports for submitted product found out of specification.
Communicates with quality and development engineers concerning product and documentation defects.
Utilize shop math techniques (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division), dexterity and mechanical aptitude to operate precision equipment.
Provide analytical support for the selection and validation of measurement and test equipment.
Partner with quality and development to investigate and resolve process and test measurement systems.
Complete tasks accurately and on-time, paying close attention to detail.
Expected Areas of Competence
Experience in preparing technical instructions/procedures
In-depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
In-depth knowledge on use of calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and programmable equipment
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and read blueprints
Ability work in a team setting
Must be able to read and communicate in English
Working knowledge of Word & Excel software applications
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks & responsibilities with competing priorities
Education/Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or vocational tech certificate, preferred
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) a plus.
4 years previous production experience with good manufacturing practices is required
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $18.56 - $26.01 (salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data)
In addition to a salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based upon company performance.
