Lockheed Martin Multi-Function Quality Director in Littleton, Colorado

Candidate will specifically be responsible for Quality Assurance (QA) for non-military programs and will work directly for the VP of Quality Assurance (QA). This individual will be primarily responsible for NASA, Commercial Civil Space (CCS) Line of Business (LOB) as the QA leader. This key opportunity will build breadth in the areas of analysis, planning, execution and communication. Duties include, but are not limited to, formulating new proposals and follow on bids in respect to program quality requirements, customer interaction, customer support of quality requirement, NASA, Commercial Civil requirements for testing, inspection and launch activities, interacting with program office and engineering on Request for Proposals (RFPs) and customer inquiries. Candidate will assure implementation of all aspects of product quality requirements in RFP, bids, and customer requirements during the proposal phase. This position will independently measure and assess program performance to identify systemic issues and areas for improvement on LOB programs in production and asses risk for RFP, bids, etc.; drive effective and rigorous root cause and corrective/preventive action through the program Corrective Action Boards (CABs) to enable Mission Success; establish and facilitate the Failure Review Board (FRB) process to effectively determine root cause and corrective actions and enable timely decision making; manage/monitor compliance to Program Quality Plan throughout the program; ensure all Quality Requirements are flowed to subcontract and procurement suppliers in accordance with contract requirements; develop, maintain and execute the Program Audit process by coordinating quality audits that verify supplier compliance to the applicable Statement of Work (SOW) quality requirements. The role will proactively expand the knowledge base to include tactical and strategic project management work related to the Non-Military LOB and strategic initiatives, talent development, and organizational design. Engage in major programmatic issues/customer concerns with the program office, engineering, customers, and functional management. The candidate must find innovative ways to drive execution, surface issues, champion change and promote 100% mission success. Candidate responsibilities: -Prepare and conduct executive level presentations/briefings at managerial level reviews with LM executives, tracking action items to completion, and providing data to Space and Corporate when requested. -Identify and develop high potential talent within the QA discipline including the establishment of a robust QA succession planning across all programs. -Partner with key organizations to organize and execute important events, such as all-leadership meetings, VP and executive staff off-sites, tiger teams, etc. with high-level impact and in support of business needs. -Work with the leadership and communications team to develop internal program-level communications, engagement and recognition initiatives. -Create metrics and measures to monitor progress and capture best practices and successes for executive level reviews to be used across the enterprise.

In addition, the candidate will take on special projects that can be tailored to the individual's development plan. Some domestic travel will be involved.

Basic Qualifications - Minimum of 10 years of Program, Operations, QA or Engineering experience. - Minimum 7 years of management experience leading increasing size of multi-discipline/site teams with demonstrated leadership experience. - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.). - Proven experience working with executive level leadership and creating high-level briefings and presentations. - Experience working high profile, complex projects from start to finish. - Project management experience across organizations. - Excellent written and verbal communication and Microsoft Office skills. - Experience with change management. - Demonstrated ability to create streamlined, agile execution plans and deliver high value solutions. - Must demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors. - Experience leading teams of salaried professions, and/or managers.

Desired skills - Master’s degree in a technical field. - Six Sigma or Lean Processes certification, lead auditor, metrics and statistics background. - Proven self-starter and self-motivator. - Detail-oriented. - Experienced big picture thinker with proven strategic project management skills. - Ability to turn a concept into reality. - Demonstrated experience with quality assurance across the life-cycle of a program. - Demonstrated knowledge of Space Major Functional Organizations’ initiatives for commonality and productivity improvements. - Familiarity and working knowledge of Space Quality Management System and AS9100 standard.
