Lockheed Martin Materials Engineer Senior (Fracture Mechanics) in Littleton, Colorado
Description: Orion requires a materials and processes senior engineer to support the fracture control team. This person would be responsible for the following:
1) Coordinate requirements implementation
2) Review assemblies for fracture compliance and update tracking systems
3) Coordinate and lead technical subcommittee meetings
4) Resolve fracture compliance for released hardware
5) Preview presentation materials for fracture implementation
6) Support Materials Review Board
7) Gain consensus from stress, NASA customer, design, and quality on technical fracture decisions
Desired Skills: NASGRO experience desired. Experience making critical decisions and negotiating with customer representatives. Experience with fracture control requirements and implementation on a human rated vehicle is a desired skill. Understanding of various non-destructive examination techniques is a plus. Experience with NASA customer is beneficial. Familiarity with SAP, EPDM, and Q-Note systems is a plus.
Knowledge of Materials and Processes for development, design, application and production. Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to multi-task, handle shifting priorities and timeline pressure to meet project deadlines. Understanding of fracture mechanics and/or damage tolerance analysis is required. Experience implementing program-wide technical documents is required. Familiar with Engineering design (drawing reviews, schematic reviews, etc.). Understanding of material properties definition is required.
