Lockheed Martin Assembly Technician in Littleton, Colorado
Description: Working from engineering drawings, written work instructions and process specifications, employee will assemble structural and precision mechanical components in a visibly clean and/or precision clean environment. Tasks will include but are not limited to:
-Installation and torqueing of a verity of fastener types, drilling/machining fastener holes on flight hardware, installation of rivets, adhesive bonding, measuring and shimming interfaces to close tolerances.
- Reading, using and understanding various precision calibrated equipment such as micrometers, calipers, milliohmmeters, torque watches/wrenches etc.
-Mix and apply various forms of adhesives to flight hardware including a variety of RTV and epoxy. Some of these applications will require injection methods.
-Ability to perform surface preparation, using grit blast, hand abrade and power abrasion techniques
-Tooling fabrication from various materials such as aluminum, corrosion resistant steel, titanium or plastics using hand tools, lathe and/or Mill.
-Working with small shop power tools (saws, routers, sanders, and grinders).
-Machine shop equipment operation (mill, lathe, table saw, band saw, etc.)
- Must work well in team environment. Will frequently work closely with other technicians, manufacturing engineers and product engineers to develop and fabricate products.
Desired Skills: Aircraft & Powerplant license or similar professional certifications.
Experience in aircraft/aerospace assembly with quality oversight.
Ability to operate mills, routers and lathes as well as, grinders, saws, and other various shop tools. Familiarity with VE-CAMS, SAP or equivalent fabrication documentation.
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of mechanics hand tools and power tools.
Strong understanding and experience of aerospace or aircraft fabrication in a quality controlled environment.
Independently performs non-routine and moderately complex assignments.
Possesses the desire to learn or develop new skills within the technician job scope.
Ability to demonstrate learning agility to pass both written and hands-on certification requirements.
Candidates shall have an understanding and ability of reading engineering drawings and Process Specifications or Procedures.
Pays special attention to the details and is comfortable following and recording data in electronic documentation for all assembly efforts.
High School and Vocational education
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Able to work flexible shifts, provide afterhours support, and work overtime as required.
