Muller Engineering Company, Inc. Senior Transportation Project Engineer in Lakewood, Colorado

This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly-skilledroadway design professional who wishes to be part of our expanding team. Thesuccessful candidate will play a key role in the design of Muller's numerousmajor roadway system improvement projects throughout Colorado for state andlocal public agencies, and federal public-land roadways throughout theSouthwest.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Design and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges,urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trailsPrepare studies, reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates for awide variety of transportation projectsSupport Project Managers with client relations, stakeholder management,and subconsultant coordinationCoordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers,technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projectsGuide and mentor junior engineers and technicians on various design supporttasksTake ownership of projects from start to finishPerform field observation work when necessary, under minimal supervisionEducation and/or Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college oruniversity7 to 10 years of experience in the design of freeways, interstatehighways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trailsExperience in design of multi-million dollar major freeway projectsExperience in interchange design, rural and/or urbanFamiliarity with design build procurement and/or alternative projectdelivery is a plusExperience with managed lane projects is a plusKnowledge and experience with Microstation, InRoads and/or Geopak,AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field oftransportation engineeringExperience with Colorado DOT (or other state DOT) plan preparationprocedures and standardsExperience with Federal Lands Highway plan preparation procedures andstandards is a plusHydraulics and traffic experience is a plusExcellent written and oral communication skillsSelf-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skillsA desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while workingin a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client'soverall project goalsRequired License or Certification:Colorado Professional Engineer License or ability to transfer a license fromanother state
