Golder has a new opportunity for an Project Controls Engineer (Planner/Scheduler), Junior - Intermediate level, to join our Denver office on a full time basis. This project controls position would be responsible for implementing an integrated project controls approach, which includes scheduling, cost control, and progress and performance analysis. Projects range from small engineering studies to large design and construction projects.
Responsibilities of the role willinclude:
Help defineexecutable Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) that aligns schedule, cost controland earned value analysis
Provide schedulingsupport, using MS Project and Primavera P6
Analyze costvariances and performance metrics
Contribute toproposal efforts
Plan and manageproject schedules including critical path analysis
Help implement changemanagement processes, and track impact on earned value basis and forecast atcompletion
Reconcile accountinginformation with Excel based Project Controls tools
Work closely withproject managers, client representatives, and engineering discipline leads tosupport project delivery
Thesuccessful candidate will have a background in:
B.S. in Engineering (Civil, Mining, Mechanical, Chemical, etc.) orConstruction Management
six months to 5 years of experience in Engineering Design orHeavy Construction
Basic understanding of scheduling principles and tools
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications,especially Excel
Strong interest in Scheduling, Project Controls, and ProjectManagement
Ability and desire to communicate appropriately with clients andsenior staff
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team
Strong attention to detail
Experience planning and managing projects in MS Project andPrimavera P6
Clear understanding of Earned Value Analysis in bothengineering and construction projects
Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction management principles and practices as well as the associated metrics and information flow
Experience using a commercially available Cost Control Tool(Prism or Similar)
Extensive experience using Excel formulas and macros
Engineering design process understanding and heavyindustrial construction experience
