Our Design Services,National Mechanical Discipline is currently seeking a Process MechanicalEngineer with proven strength in process mechanical engineering design ofwater and wastewater treatment processes, process piping systems, and pipesupports as it pertains to municipal and industrial plant design(equipment, piping and controls) for the industrial and water industries(wastewater, reclaimed, potable water and surface water).Job ExpectationsIn this role, you will utilize your technical expertise to manage andexecute work on projects and to help ensure successful client projectdelivery. In addition, it is anticipated that you will also participate inthe mentoring and career development of our junior engineering staff withinthe Mechanical Discipline with specific focus on pipe and support design. Youwill have the opportunity to work collaboratively with highly experiencedtechnical experts and other leaders from the BC team.Additional responsibilities include:Manage and execute work for wastewater and water utilities and industrialfacilities, including treatment plants, and pumping stations.Perform technical research as it applies to our industry, and be able tocommunicate and apply this knowledge on future projects.Support project teams in planning and/or designing a major and complexpiping systems within our project delivery framework.Provide consultation in specialized areas related to efficient piping systemdesign. Make decisions and solve problems.Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve designproduction and efficiency.Prepare and make presentations to clients for project technical meetingsDirect the work of drafters and designers, coordinate with other disciplinesSupervise, delegate and oversee the work of technical staff and engineersAssist with and support construction related office engineering activitiesCoach and mentor junior engineers and designers.Position Requirements:B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Civil Engineering; M.S. preferred.8-12 years of experience in complex piping systems design.Experience should include: Piping system design, pipe support design,and thermal pipe stress analysis.Experience and ability to engage in other process mechanical design beyondpiping system design is preferred.Professional Engineer (PE) License, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemicalpreferred or the ability to be licensed within six months.Strong project or task management skills desired.Successful technical writing skills desired.Experience in Revit and AutoCad MEP is preferred.Preferred experience working in BIM integrated design.For more than 70 years, Brown and Caldwell has been creating leading-edgeenvironmental solutions for public agencies and private industry.
