Consider joining our team andunlock your potential.Performs duties that require application of intensive and diversifiedknowledge of packaging engineering principles and practices. Develops,evaluates, and tests packaging designs for a variety of disposablesproducts. Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the developmentof new or improved techniques and procedures. Works to ensure that disposablemedical device products are packaged in a way that maintains safety,quality, functionality, and sterility.The Packaging Engineer 3 will define innovative and high valued packaging forthe business, create and develop novel concepts and designs, lead theverification and validation testing of these designs, and fully transfer newdevices to manufacturing. Includes additional responsibility for the supportof current disposables packaging in manufacturing. Throughout this process,the Packaging Engineer 3 will support the efficient, high quality design anddevelopment of medical device packaging systems, working cross-functionallywith manufacturing, project management, Innovation and Development(IandD), procurement, regulatory, marketing, quality, andoperations team members, as well as external suppliers.Works closely with other Packaging Engineers and IandD partners across theglobe to ensure a harmonized development process which meets the needs of eachregulatory notified body.ESSENTIAL DUTIESLeads and is accountable for projects and drives results. May also play acontributing role on projects where specific disposables packaging engineeringexpertise is requiredDisplays accessibility and sought out for consultation on packagingengineering, design, testing, materials, application of standards, etc.Identifies appropriate test methods and partners with internal and externalresources as needed to complete testing as plannedParticipate in the deterimination of appropriate test methods with globalIandD partners for projects outside of LakewoodDevelops disposables packaging specifications, requirements, andassociated engineering documentsCollaborates directly with outside suppliers to develop optimal packagedesigns and/or componentsDocument all packaging and labeling design, development, and testing tocomply with internal SOPs and standardsContribute to building a pipeline of novel package technologies for futureimplementation by identifing, reviewing, and evaluating new packagingtechnology for application to current and future product designsCollaborate with process engineering and operations staff to design,specify, implement, and validate equipment and processes required tosupport the packaging processPartner with and/or support supplier engineering and manage packagingprocess validations with external packaging and packaging component suppliersOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWork direction responsibility may include technicians and junior engineersMay work with manufacturing and other functional groups on manufacturing andregulatory compliance issuesWork closely with project technical leads to establish cusomter and userrequirementsContribute to expanding rapid prototyping strategiesMINIMUM QUALIFICA
