DescriptionCurrently our Denver office has an exciting opportunity for an Mid-LevelStructural Engineer to join our National Structural Design Group. Thesuccessful candidate will work as part of multi-discipline project teams onvarious water and wastewater projects for municipal and private sectorclients. Project work includes: supporting senior structural engineers anddesigners in the preparation of design calculations, contract drawings andproject specifications; coordination with other engineering disciplines;and construction support services. The successful candidate will enjoyworking in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to developinnovative, cost effective designs for new facilities, expansions,upgrades and retrofits.Job Expectations:Provide structural engineering design for tanks, basins and buildingfacilities at water and wastewater treatment plants.Provide structural engineering design for industrial water facilities.Design concrete, steel and masonry structures per IBC.Design concrete structures utilizing ACI 318 and ACI 350 for EnvironmentalStructures.Perform condition assessments of existing structures.Prepare detailed design sketches, or work directly within CAD or Revit,and coordinate with designer staff to prepare 3-D models and design drawings.Prepare construction specifications.Coordinate structural project work with architects and process,mechanical, and electrical engineering staff.Provide construction administration support: submittal review, RFIresponses, and structural observations.Utilize RISA 3D, Enercalc and other software for structural design.Desired Skills and Experience:Comprehensive knowledge of concrete, steel, masonry and wood structuraldesign per IBC and referenced codes.Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering design required.Structural design experience with wastewater treatment plant or industrialfacilities; some commercial design experience is a plus too.B.S. and M.S. degree in Civil Engineering (structural course work emphasis).PE license required.Experience coordinating with staff performing 3-D CAD or Revit is a plus.Effective oral and written communication essential.Seismic design experience preferred.SE license or ability to obtain within two yearsFor more than 70 years, Brown and Caldwell has been creating leading-edgeenvironmental solutions for public agencies and private industry.
