- You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties. Prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year thereafter (or more frequently if management determines such need exists), you will be required to sign an affidavit certifying to your possession of a valid State issued driver's license that is current and has not been revoked, suspended, canceled, or otherwise disqualified in any way to prohibit your operation of a motor vehicle. You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists. Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. **GS-0807 Landscape Architect:successfully completed a degree in landscape architecture or landscape design OR a combination of education and experience. For each year short of graduation, you must have had 1 year of experience under professional leadership and guidance of such character and diversity as to be a satisfactory substitute for the required education. This experience must have included original landscape design.
GS-0801/0810 General/Civil Engineer:successfully completed a full 4-year professional engineering curriculum, leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in engineering from an accredited college or university that has an engineering curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) OR successfully completed a full 4-year professional engineering curriculum leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in engineering. The curriculum included differential and integral calculus and courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry): (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d)thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination AND completed of all of the requirements for a bachelor's degree in engineering technology (BET) that included 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences as listed above. OR a registered Professional Engineer in a state in the U.S., the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. My registration is based on passing a written examination given by the State Board. OR completed at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences that included courses as described in B above, and are acceptable toward a degree in professional engineering. OR a combination of education and experience. I have successfully completed a 4-year curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in a related scientific curriculum such as physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology. Additionally, my work experience includes one or more years of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. (There should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.)
IN ADDITION: you must also meet the following specialized experience for the position.**
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Qualifying specialized experience for this position includes reviewing, planning and developing designs for construction, repair or maintenance projects; preparing contract design and construction packages, development, execution and project management of multiple (more than 5) projects over $100,000 in net construction cost, knowledge of project management principles and concepts; applying the technical principles, practices, procedures of project development. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal service.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".
You must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institutionwith your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
