Responsibilities include gathering requirements from internalcustomer organizations and interfacing directly with machine integrators,ensuring design and documentation of the controls system meets customerrequirements. Activities include PLC programming, HMI/SCADAprogramming, review of schematics/diagrams, controls narratives andengineering flow diagrams, assisting acceptance testing, installation anddebug, and providing post validation production support. Position isexpected to provide direction to internal resources while mentoring juniorengineers and technicians. Engineering resources will be based in DenverColorado, requiring travel to domestic machine integrators and offshoremanufacESSENTIAL DUTIESDesign, installation and qualification of automated manufacturing systemsfor medical device production in a clean room environment.Reviews existing controls systems and corrects software/hardware to alignwith design standards.Provides technical leadership to multiple project teams, ensuring controlssystems of all projects are current with customer standards.Maintains knowledge of latest technology and design practices to keeporganization current with industry development.Develops and reviews control system documentation ensuring documentation iseffective in the hands of the end user.Receives assigned total project leadership responsibilities on a portion ofmajor significant projects and will be given total management responsibilityfor smaller projects.Manages and provides leadership for the functional group's development,direction, and effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies andprocesses and supporting overall business and corporate objectives.Implements and understands FDA or regulatory requirements as necessary.Updating and troubleshooting of equipment including pneumatic cylinders,vision systems, robotics, motors (servos and steppers), and dataacquisition systems.Highlights risks and understands how to approach and complete tasks,avoiding serious delays and considerable expenditure of time and resources.Advises team members pro-actively on technical ideas and promotes skilldevelopment of team work.Handles frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technicalissues associated with specific projects.Works cooperatively and effectively within a team environment to achievecommon goals and results, often influencing the outcome of the team(s).OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWork direction responsibility may include technicians and junior engineers.May work with manufacturing and other functional groups on manufacturing andregulatory compliance issues.Travel is expected 15% - 20% of project duration.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducationBachelor's degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferred.ExperienceMinimum 4 years experience.Two years of GMP manufacturing experience required.Reviewing and creating control systems specifications.Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens machine control systems.Support and development of machine control systems; Studio5000LogixDesigner, FactoryTalk View Studio is preferred.Industrial Networking, Vision Systems and Wonderware Historian is preferred.SkillsRequires demonstrated skills in technical innovation, technicalleadership, mechanical, electrical and or chemical engineering.Knowledge of automated control systems including: PLCs, HMI, p
