Ensure that our hot mix asphalt(HMA) production and placement is in compliance with all required internaland external quality standards and specifications. Assist with theimplementation of best practices and techniques with regard to quality,production, delivery and placement of HMA. Assist with establishing andachieving quality objectives for all aspects of operations, while workingclosely with operations, dispatch, estimators and project management.Duties:* Ensure all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner. FollowMartin Marietta safety policies at all times.* Establish the environment as a priority in daily activities and act as asteward to the environment. Demonstrate a commitment to meet or exceedenvironmental compliance.* Perform work related tasks as specified according to ASTM, AASHTO, CDOTand Martin Marietta standards.* Work closely with plant operations on a daily basis to monitor aggregatemoistures, cleanliness and uniformity. Develop close working relationshipswith plant operations in order to ensure the HMA meets established qualitytargets.* Ensure good customer relations. Must be able to communicate effectively withcustomers in a diverse environment. Provide customer support in resolvingquality concerns and problems in the field by working with variousdepartments. Educate customers in proper HMA placement and compactiontechniques.* Work closely with the Division Lab to ensure raw material sampling schedulesare met, and that all daily HMA testing results are communicated to theappropriate parties. Assist with the investigation and testing of new rawmaterial sources and products. Ensure quality HMA is being produced throughthe active testing of raw materials. Must report all suspect results tomanagement immediately.* Occasional lab work will be required for both training and participating inlab related projects and mix designs.* Maintain a log book of all testing conducted at the lab, plant andon-site, as well as all HMA related observations throughout your shiftKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Proficient in math, reading and writing skills.* Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.* Being mechanically inclined is very helpful. Please provide examples.* Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.* Ability to maintain composure in variety of situations and act in aprofessional manner.* Must be team oriented with ability to effectively manage conflict.* Proficient with computers and technology.Education and Experience:* High school diploma or equivalent required.* Minimum 2 years related industry experience.* CAPA Levels A & B certification is required.
