Ulteig Engineers, Inc. Transmission Line Design Engineer in Greenwood Village, Colorado

DescriptionThe OpportunityUlteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Engineer level candidatesto join our Transmission and Distribution group. This position is responsiblefor the design of High Voltage (69kV-500kV) transmission lines utilizingthe PLS-CADD software. The ideal candidate has excellent problem solvingskills; uses advanced techniques, theory, precepts and practices tocomplete complex project assignments. They will adapt and modify standardtechniques to solve multifaceted problems and provide expert consultation forthe design, development and implementation of technical plans and systemsused in the construction of high voltage transmission lines.What You'll DoThis position entails facilitating collaboration between other disciplines andproject team members; acting as client contact to determine the projectscope and understand their requirements; development of constructiondocuments for the transmission line. Final deliverables will include projectdesign criteria, plan and profile drawings, structure framing and loadingdrawings, assembly drawings, structure foundation drawings andconstruction specifications. The engineer will coordinate specific designaspects of projects, estimating construction costs, and specify materials.What We Expect from YouA minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or ElectricalEngineering from an ABET accredited schoolMinimum of 2 years' engineering experience is preferredEIT required and ability to obtain PE licensure within 2 years highlypreferredProficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE preferredPrevious experience working with or for a Utility is highly preferredMust be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in ateam environment and a variety of situations while maintaining a positive,enthusiastic attitudeExcellent presentation and verbal/written communications skillsDemonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish andmaintain effective working relationships with staff, management, clientsand external agenciesProven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and AutoCAD is preferredProficiency in MFAD/LPILE is preferredHighly driven toward team success and professional growthIndependently completes assigned tasksActively manages individual workloadEffectively assists in training and mentoring team membersResponsible for reviewing project drawings, calculations and specificationsDemonstrate wide degree of creativity and latitudeCollaborate with multi-discipline team to ensure project successMust have authorization to work permanently in the USWhat You Can Expect from UlteigFor 75 years, we've built a culture focused on people - both our clientsand our employees.
