Charter Communications/Spectrum Manager, Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial Design in Greenwood Village, Colorado

JOB SUMMARYThe Mgr, HFC Design leads teams of supervisors and OSP Designersresponsible for administering company-wide standards in areas such as OSP -Fiber/Coax design, monitoring, splicing documentation, distortioncalculations, policy development, process documentation and overalldepartmental OPEX and Capital reporting. Responsible for ensuring networkarchitectures are documented, detailed design parameters are gathered andcommunicated, and maintaining a thorough understanding of the currentnetwork architecture and technologies. Recruits and leads team to accomplishcompany goals and objectives and to deliver a positive customer experience.Interfaces and works in partnership with other internal departments to achievesuccessful results.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESActively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance thecustomer experience.Manage the design activities with accountability, focused on company goalsand the customer experience.Serve as the liaison to various internal organizations regarding Outside PlantDesign.Prioritize defined projects and other workload to deliver accurate and timelynetwork design.Oversee the day-to-day business activity, ensuring design allocations andcommitments are maintained and tracked for measureable performance metrics.Instill proper workplace values within the team (e.g., accountability,honesty, quality, respect, positivity).Develop technical and leadership bench strength within the Design team.Responsible for coordinating and ensuring proper technical training isidentified and administered.Ensure design engineer solutions adhere to company published standardsmaintaining operationally efficient, low capital cost, and high-qualitysolutions.Cultivate teamwork and mentorship, internal and external to the DesignEngineering team, to encourage solution sharing and knowledge transfer.Engage in cross-department management at various levels to act as an advocateand liaison for engineering.Responsible for clear and consistent communication, technical and managerial.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to read, write, speak and understand EnglishStrong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to effectively managecomplex and lengthy assignments involving diverse employee base in anorganization of comparable size and scopeAbility to influence people with purpose, direction and motivation toaccomplish goalsAbility to work in fast paced environment handling multiple responsibilitieswhile successfully meeting goals and deadlines within budgetAbility to identify and execute on opportunities for improving the teamAbility to effectively present and explain technical solutions to managementand teamEvaluate network architectures based on key criteria (e.g., customerneeds, costs, network and operational capacity)Ability to successfully manage vendor contracts and relationshipsAbility to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and applysolutions to meet business needsExceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills arerequired to communicate across all levels and department within theorganizatioAbility to successfully manage and direct financial budget to achieve businessgoalsAbility to maintain and develop individual contributors within the teamStrong knowledge of OSP Design, specifically HFC Architecture and Designrequirements relating to HFC Architecture and Passive Optical NetworksIntermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio and Project applications programsMust have a valid driver's license with a good driving recordEducationBachelor's degree University and/or equivalent training, education andexperienceRelated Work Experience Number of YearsRelevant leadership experience 2+Relevant work experience 5+WORKING CONDITIONSOffice environmentSalaries depend on geography, exp
