Kforce Data Scientist in Greenwood Village, Colorado
Kforce has a client in search of a Data Scientist in Greenwood Village, CO.Summary:The candidate will be an experienced individual contributor in Data Analytics (and possibly Machine Learning) and will be responsible for extracting value from IoT data and build models based on collected data or data available in the public domain. The candidate's main role would be to handle all the Data Analytics processes from data collection, cleaning, transformation, and enrichment of IoT data before storing it in a data store for querying and analysis. In addition, the candidate will develop algorithms to analyze data, gather insights and analytics, create business decision flow and dashboard to visualize them. The position is part of the industrial IoT R&D team.Responsibilities:
Design, develop, deploy, and support interactive data visualizations
Identify data needs, gaps, sources, verify data quality, transform, and clean data as needed
Developing, analyzing, and comparing algorithms (ML, AI) that could be used to solve a given problem and ranking them by their success probability
Develop algorithms, train, tune and validate these based on different datasets (internal/external data sources)
Apply objective, analytical, and orderly thinking to the analysis of complex problems
Communicate findings and suggest innovative solutions
Visualizing/Presenting data for stakeholders using different tools and dashboard
Defining the preprocessing or feature engineering to be done on a given dataset
Develop PoC in our labs then do a technology transfer to the production environment
MSc. in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent
5 years in Data analytics and ML
Very familiar with Linux Operating System and Shell scripting
Experience with Big Data tools and products such as Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, SQL, NoSQL, Cassandra
Expertise in big data processing, familiarity with big data platforms
Strong skills in different Statistical analysis methods and its implementation using one or more tools such as R, Python, JavaScript and Scala
Deep experience with AWS services (e.g. Kinesis Streams, Glue and SageMaker, etc.)
Experience with one or more visualization platforms (e.g. tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.) is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on IoT Data Analytics projects with focus on Smart Cities and IoT projects
Experience developing machine learning models for descriptive and predictive data analytics
Proficiency with a deep learning framework in tools like TensorFlow, KNIME, Keras, and Theano
Experience with simulations, optimization, algorithms and complexity analysis, neural networks, artificial intelligence (deep learning and machine learning)
Experience in Building proof of concept based on collected data and/or data available in the public domain
Working on feature exploration and feature engineering to increase models' precision and recall
Machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision (Video Analytics), pattern recognition, large-scale data mining or artificial intelligence experience is a plus, but not required
