Dewberry has an opportunity for a Civil CAD Designer to join our Civil/Land Development Group in our Greenwood Village, CO office and participate on the Civil Design team working with engineers, project managers, and other professionals.
This position emphasizes design and plan set preparation of a residential, multi-family, commercial, and mixed-use projects. Work activities may include; grading, pipe networks, alignments, profiles, sections, and redline drafting for conceptual, preliminary, and final design drawings.
Prepare base files, plan exhibits, construction documentation and detailed design drawings for an array of land development and civil engineering projects. Provide drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining AutoCAD 3D drawings that compile to create a set of permitable plans.
Prepare designs from general instruction and preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics.
Prepare working drawings from conceptual plans, to entitlement documents, planning documents, through final engineering construction documents and construction record drawings.
Conduct QA/QC and constructability reviews of projects.
Coordinate with other team members including designers, engineers, managers, administrative staff and construction staff members.
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of CAD standards across the Civil/Land Development Group.
Perform other duties as necessary.
High school diploma.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a CADD designer (AutoCAD Civil3D) with civil, land development emphasis.
Experience and demonstrated ability with current versions of AutoCAD and using the Civil 3D package to create surfaces, alignments and profiles.
Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects and work with multiple project managers.
Strong interest in all phases of Civil Engineering including land development, utilities, water resources, and construction.
High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills,
Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed.
