We are looking for a Quality Food Safety Manager for JBS that will report to the Corporate Office in Greeley, CO.
This position is responsible for maintaining various quality programs, specifications, food safety SOP’s, quality SOP’s, USDA labeling, and using regulatory knowledge to ensure product meets customer and USDA requirements.
Collaborate on the update to the co-packer/supplier Guidelines and Expectations, the accompanying audit, and the Outside Supplier Survey as regulatory and internal needs mandate. Keep aligned with the current GFSI auditing standards.
Work with the Contact Manufacturing operations, Marketing, R&D, and Procurement to help find potential supplier/ co-packers.
Screen supplier and co-packer abilities to meet Guidelines and Expectations.
Maintain and update the approved supplier and co-packer list and contact information, including protocols for addressing issues that could lead to potential recalls.
Perform annual audits at all co-packers to observe a production run and focus on AQL’s.
Request and maintain current supplier & co-packer documents. Keep them posted on the QA portal so they are readily available to our facilities for their auditing needs.
Assign co-packer ID to each co-packer/ supplier for traceability identification in SAP where needed.
Perform random trace backs monthly by PO # to ensure the inventory is being received into SAP with the correct co-packer ID in SAP for traceability purposes.
Perform mock trace backs with co-packers at least annually.
Track supplier performance based on complaints and the number of pounds supplied weekly. Share this information monthly with CVA team.
Handle communication between customers and the supplier/ co-packer.
Perform product cuttings on co-packed product from each co-packer.
Collaborate with all business segments, customers, suppliers and the USDA.
Manage maintenance of CVA specifications in the SAP PLM database or other databases as needed
Manage the internal labeling approval process & submit labels for USDA approval.
Assist with writing various SOP’s.
Assist with completing customer GFSI audit requests, supplier quality/food safety questionnaires and supplying BRC and other 3rd party audit results.
Other duties as assigned
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science or other food related field minimum requirement.
Experience: 5 years of food/meat industry experience (1-2 years of USDA labeling experience)
Demonstrate experience in management of teams.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office applications, Power Point, Excel and Word.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills.
Understanding of USDA regulations and labeling
Understanding of meat plant operations.
Strong organizational and accuracy skills.
Ability to execute quality system programs & audits.
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

Base salary range of $80,000 - $100,590; and
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
