DOWL Engineering Technician III in Grand Junction, Colorado

Produce accurate complex final design models and drawings with AutoCAD andrelated software. Lead less experienced technicians and on occasion assistwith determining appropriate workload and project modeling and drawing costestimates.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:1. Through limited guidance from engineers and through participation inproject meetings, perform basic engineering design of civil engineering siteand utility plans, transportation design, planning, geotechnical andenvironmental report figures.2. For large projects, coordinate the design process between engineeringgroups.3.Perform, or assist engineers with computations of CAD modeling for planand profile sheets, site and utility grades, and project quantities.4. Assist with display graphics and report figures.5. Assist with regular filing of large format drawings, both physical andelectronic.6. Assist other departments with completion of models and drawings includingbase maps, record surveys, ALTA surveys, plats, plot plans and mapswhich may include contours and digital terrain models.Qualifications:To be successful in this position, an individual must beable to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Sufficient English skills to compose correspondence, proofreaddocuments, and effectively communicate with supervisors, othertechnicians, and clients. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, anddraw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technicalinstructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract andconcrete variables. Proficient knowledge of AutoCad Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, Outlook,Excel software, Windows Operating System, and several printing output devices.
