Capco Automation Engineer-Mechanical Design in Grand Junction, Colorado

Essential Functions (to include but not limited to):Design, develop, and improve automated systems for manufacturingDesign and develop control system upgrades for existing manufacturingequipmentDesign and develop automated data acquisition systems for product performancetestingDevelop, maintain and improve technical data packages (TDPs),drawings, schematics and system specificationsWork independently to solve problems, documenting findings using anorganized, methodological approachDesign and develop new technologies and/or products, including developingmanufacturing drawings, fabricating prototypes, coordinating the effortsof techniciansInterface with customers regarding schedules, product specifications,engineering change proposals, product improvementsInterface with vendors, including on-sight visits, evaluation anddown-select, technical support and guidancePlan projects and tasks for self and othersDesign, develop, or augment programming code for computer controlledprototyping/manufacturing/fabricating equipmentPrepare and present structured, comprehensive, detailed written reportsusing Microsoft Office Suite and other desktop softwareInterface with customers regarding schedules, product specifications,engineering change proposals, product improvementsInterface with vendors, including on-sight visits, evaluation anddown-select, technical support and guidanceCommunicate complex technical information using reports, charts and imagesclearly and effectively with customers, co-workers and managementMust meet Attendance requirementsUphold standards and specificationsOther Job Functions:Assists Engineering Manager in improving a system of production control,standard operating procedures, safety and quality controlDesign and develop automated metrology and inspection systemsPrepare patent filingsParticipates in and supports new business proposal writing effortsAbility to travel as necessaryBasic Qualifications:4 Year Degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Physics orrelated field AND a minimum of 7 years' experienceDemonstrated experience in electronic and/or electromechanical systemsMust pass background check and appropriate drug testingEnglish proficiencyMust be 18 years of agePreferred Qualifications:5+ years' experience computer programmingExperience in 3D printingDemonstrated experience developing systems that utilize Programmable LogicControllers (PLCs) and/or Peripheral Interface Controllers (PICs)5+ years' experience in all stages of product development, from initialconcept to production ramp-upExperience working with machining tools and intermediate mechanical assemblyDemonstrated technical writing skillsExperience with DoD contracting
