Committed to sustainable development, GHDimproves the physical, natural and social environments of the manycommunities in which we operate.Our office in Golden, Colorado is looking for a senior-level Toxicologist/ Environmental Risk Assessor to join their Environmental Services group.Our environmental consultants in North America are involved in conductingenvironmental risk assessments by applying their toxicology background tosupport product registration and regulatory compliance determinations,including reuse of waste materials. Environmental risk assessments typicallyinvolve combining chemical toxicity with exposure estimates to assess human& ecological health risks and develop risk management strategies to supportcontaminated site decision-making under Federal, state, and internationalsite cleanup programs.These projects involve addressing waste material and soil, groundwater,sediment and surface water contamination; performing fate/transport andexposure modeling (including vapor intrusion, air emission anddispersion); statistical analysis; spatial analysis; developingremediation/risk management plans; and providing technical support formultiple and diverse project teams including public communication of riskassessment findings and outcomes.Further aspects of this role are to support our Emergency Response Team inhuman and environmental health assessments related to emergency incidents,support product registration and compliance determinations under Federalregulatory programs that control the distribution and use of chemicals in themarket place (e.g. USEPA's Toxic Substances Control Act [TSCA] andHealth Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency [PMRA]).Specific responsibilities will include:* Preparing product registration and compliance documents* Evaluating large environmental datasets* Interpreting site characterization data* Leading and performing statistical and spatial data analysis* Performing contaminant fate/transport and exposure modeling* Quantitatively evaluating human and ecological risks* Preparing reports and other written communications* Supervising junior staff in the above activitiesThe successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:* Master's and/or PhD degree in Toxicology, Ecotoxicology,Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field* Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) certification orability to obtain DABT certification is required for Toxicologists* 20+ years of professional experience in the fields of toxicology, human& ecological health risk assessment, environmental fate and transportmodeling & statistical data analysis and sampling design* Experience working with industrial clients is a must* Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) applications software* Strong analytical and quantitative skills* Proficiency with spreadsheet or database softwareGHD is a large, well established organization with a culture that promotesteamwork, integrity and respect.
