Job Summary

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Golden, Colorado is the nation’s primary laboratory for research and development of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. A postdoctoral researcher position is available in NREL’s Chemistry and Nanoscience Center. The successful candidate will have experience in the ultrafast spectroscopy of thin film semiconductors, quantum dots, and hybrid organic-inorganic semiconductors. Furthermore, fabrication, synthesis, and deposition of thin film solution deposited semiconductor systems and experience with optical, electrical, and structural characterization will be essential.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Must be a recent PhD graduate within the last three years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A doctorate degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or other relevant discipline

  • Relevant education and experience consistent with duties

  • Hands on experience with laser spectroscopy, device fabrication, and advanced energy concepts

  • Knowledge of spin orbit coupling

  • Experience in measuring ultrafast spectroscopy of solution deposited Pb-halide perovskite systems or similar systems is desirable, particularly in the areas of spintronic, light emission, or charge carrier transport phenomena
