Environmental, Health and Safety Management Associate Position:
The environmental, health and safety management associate role is a developmental position that will allow the person to assume some safety process responsibility and will prepare them for a permanent position at one of our many locations. Key activities include but are not limited to: developing and implementing elements of our overall safety and/or environmental management systems that satisfy both internal and external requirements. You will learn how to evaluate trends, conduct root cause analysis, be a member of and lead safety/EHS-related teams, develop/implement basic safety/ergonomics/EHS programs, monitor/assist departmental safety meetings, assist supervisors in managing their safety programs, direct compliance activities and participate in corporate responsibility activities. You will interact with all levels of employees from production workers to top location and business leadership.
As an associate, you will be exposed to a number of disciplines that will give you the necessary tools to personally make a contribution to effectively champion and/or lead a safety/EHS area at one of our locations.

This role involves physical activity in agricultural, food and feed processing environments, which generally requires a moderate amount of exertion on a fairly regular basis–involving bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing more than 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds. The work may also involve other exertions, conditions or exposures (e.g. heat, cold, dust).

Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited program in engineering, ergonomics/human factors, occupational safety, environmental sciences, or a safety-related degree, graduating between December 2017 and August 2019
Willingness to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts
Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Must be willing and able to relocate
Ability to contribute, both as part of a team and individually
Strong communication skills – written and oral

Overall 3.0 GPA preferred
