The engineerwill be responsible for projects involving stream bankrestoration/stabilization design and sediment transport, and constructionoversight and general project management. Preference will be given tocandidates who have training in fluvial geomorphology and fish passage designand mitigation, as well as some litigation support experience. This positionwill require up to 20% fieldwork time and overnight travel up to 20% ofthe time; fieldwork time and overnight travel time will likely overlap. Theideal candidate will have at least 10 years of environmental consultingexperience and be adept at overseeing and managing projects, requiringcoordinating with other practices and/or offices, managingsubcontractors, and managing and mentoring staff. The candidate should be aself-motivated, diligent, and caring team-player who is ready to grow withcolleagues in and outside their realm of expertise. Come help us build ahealthier environment and be part of a network of change.Qualifications:BS degree in environmental, civil, or geo-environmental engineering(required) from an ABET accredited engineering schoolAdvanced degree in environmental, civil, or geo-environmental engineering(preferred)At least 10 years of experience in environmental consulting (required)PE / PG certification (required)Construction management experienceAbility to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment: handling multipleproject assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to clientfacilities as needed (required)Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record (required)Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. (required)Ability to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.(required)Willingness to travel for multiple days on occasion for meetings, fieldwork, and to support project teams in other offices. (required)Ability to work independently to ensure that client needs are met in a timelyand efficient manner. (required)Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the abilityto interact with clients and project teams. (required)Promote cooperation and teamwork among all Wenck members and offices.(required)Ability to interact with Contractors and manage potential conflicts in thefield. (required)Entrepreneurial, hard-working and enjoys learning.Project management certification (preferred)Knowledge and/or experience in use of CAD, GIS, WaterGEMS, HEC-RAS,HEC-HMS, or FLO-2D (preferred)Litigation support experience, preparing presentations for hearings(preferred)Specialization in Environmental Compliance (preferred)Storm water permitting and management experience.Strong in environmental policy with qualitative and quantitative research.Well versed in environmental compliance program development and theregulation, enforcement, and permitting of diverse industriesExperience working with Environmental Management Systems.Desire to stay
