WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

ICF seeks a Technical Specialist to provide management and content or technical expertise for projects related to vector-borne disease surveillance, management and control. Candidates should have a strong background in vector-borne disease and vector control strategies, be able to think analytically, synthesize quantitative and qualitative data from a variety of sources, write for technical and non-technical audiences, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues, clients, and their constituents. Candidates should have experience working with clients and leading tasks/projects and multi-disciplinary teams.This is a full-time position based in Fort Collins, Colorado. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance to be considered for this position.WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

  • Provide oversight and direction for vector control projects related to research, evaluation, performance monitoring, and/or training/technical assistance.

  • Manage the day-to-day work associated with the projects and serve as the primary point of contact for clients.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in vector control strategies, vector abatement, and/or vector-borne diseases.

  • Synthesize findings into written reports and scientific articles and contribute to the development of proposals.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • PhD in related field with at least 4 years of relevant experience – or Master’s degree and 8 years of experience.

  • Experience working in vector-borne disease control and management, including monitoring and surveillance

  • Knowledge of public health, public health theory and practice.

  • Experience managing projects and staff to ensure high quality products that are delivered on-time, and on-budget.

  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing tasks and managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Superior writing and editing skills, ability to create a cohesive narrative from the findings that answers the research/evaluation question and is targeted to the appropriate audience.

IF YOU HAVE THIS, YOU'RE PROBABLY A GOOD MATCH:

  • PhD is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Federal clients

  • Demonstrated experience working with vector control organizations
