TitleRegional Safety Coordinator City/TownFort Collins State/ProvinceCO DescriptionInterstates is growing, and we are currently seeking an Regional SafetyCoordinator to join our Interstates Construction Team in our Fort CollinsRegional Office. The Regional Safety Coordinator will be based out of FortCollins, CO and require 50% travel for projects both in the Colorado areaand sites across the United States. Responsible for assisting the SafetyManagers. This individual will also help our customers achieve a successfuland safe work zone, that meets all owner/regulatory requirements, asdefined in the primary job duties section, below. Interstates seeksambitious, innovative individuals with the ability to grow and maintainvalue-added relationships with our team and external customers.Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:Assist the Safety Director in promoting behavioral-based safety on remoteconstruction sitesEnsure all safety equipment and supplies are on-siteAssist in providing First Aid training and First Aid on siteComplete job-site safety audits, correcting all potential problemsMonitor and promote weekly on-site safety inspections, including logging,reporting, and documentationAssist the Safety Manager with the investigation of accidents, injuries,and "near-misses"Assist with coordinating training programs or media, which will increaseproficiency in safe practice and promote safety implementation and awarenessConduct Root-Cause AnalysesAttend foreman and team safety meetingsComplete coaching and 2 minute drill interactions with team membersEnsure there is a site-specific SDS binder and that it is up-to-dateManage LOTO kits and the calibration of air/gas monitorsAssisting with project start-ups and plant shut-downsAssist crews in observing, communicating, and growing the InterstatesSafety CultureDevelop relationships with customers, safety managers, and otherInterstates personnelOther duties may be assigned.Education and/or Experience:A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, preferably inOccupational Health of Construction SafetyOr 1-2 years of related experience and/or trainingOr equivalent combination of both education and experiencePreferred Skills:Excellent verbal and written communicationAble to track information and conduct auditsAbility to write reports and procedure manualsCan effectively present information and respond to questions from groups ofmanager, clients, customers, and the general publicAbility to work well with others and achieve results through others, withouthaving a direct line of authority over themMust possess sound judgement skills, and the ability to prioritize work anddeal with stressTravel: This position will involve spending 80-90% of the time onconstruction sites; the position will be based out of Colorado and travelwill be required 50% of the time to projects across the United States.Interstates is an Equal Opportunity/AA Employer and provides a drug freework environment.Interstates is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and providesa drug free work environment.
