Project Ecosystem Restoration Engineer Office LocationUS-CO-FortCollinsRequisition Number 2017-10112 # of Openings 1 Program Water ResourcesHire Type Regular Hourly/Salary Salary About the opportunitySWCA is seeking a skilled Project Engineer who has experience in streamrestoration design, surface water hydrologic, open-channel hydraulicanalysis, and modeling. The candidate must have a strong skill set inAutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS software and a working knowledge ofGIS principles.You will receive senior guidance and mentoring from two nationally-recognizedstream restoration engineers as well as provide the same to staff engineersand scientists. In addition, projects will include sites across the U.S.within SWCA's geographic footprint and the position will entail travel andshort-term overnight efforts to collect field data, oversee restorationprojects, and meet with clients.What you will accomplishEngineering design of ecosystem restoration and enhancement projectsincluding: natural channel design/stream restoration, freshwater andcoastal wetland restoration, and ecologically-enhanced drainage and floodcontrol channel stabilization on projects located throughout the country andCoManage and perform engineering design and development of construction plans ofthe above listed project types under the direction of seniorengineer/scientistsMentor staff engineers in natural channel design within the AutoDesk Civil 3DplatformDirect CADD technicians in the development of construction plan setsManage and perform water resources assessments and analysis including:watershed hydrology, open-channel hydraulics, river and floodplainmodelling, and stormwater managementKeep projects on schedule and on budget and report to lead engineerMentor junior staffExperience and qualifications for successA minimum of a Bachelor s Degree in Civil Engineering or related degreerequired, Master s Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree preferred.PE certification with a minimum 5 years post-Bachelor s experience.PMP certification a plus.Completion of Rosgen NCD Levels I and II, or equivalent, required.College coursework in surface water hydrology and open-channel hydraulics,preferred.Experience with AutoCad Civil 3D 2012, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, MicrosoftWord, and Microsoft Excel, and various other civil engineering softwareprograms preferred.Experience developing stream restoration/natural channel design constructionplans in the AutoCad Civil 3D environment preferred.Willingness to be trained in GIS, if not already proficient.Ability to work independently and with Sr. Engineering Staff and multi-taskregularly in a fast-paced environment with multiple changes; work underpressure & meet tight deadlines.SWCA Environmental Consultants is a growing employee-owned firm, providing afull-spectrum of environmental services.
