DescriptionPosition Purpose:This level of engineer performs work including routine functions requiring theapplication of standard engineering principles, procedures and evaluationcriteria. This role requires a low level of supervision. Working mostlyindependently and making own technical decisions on work covered byprecedents, and collaborates with other senior engineers on new or complexissues.Product Material Compliance (PMC): Provide a strong understanding of andfamiliarity with all material compliance regulations affecting Woodwardproducts and market areas. In collaboration with the PMC Team, provideinterpretations of these regulations for the appropriate incorporationintoWoodward business and engineering practices to insure the necessary complianceof Woodward product content, production processes, and repair / overhauloperatEssential Functions:TACTICAL:Compliance liaison for Quality system auditsManages/leads internal compliance initiativesManagescompliance responsibilities for complex systems/projectsProvide technical direction and problem solving guidance to othersProvides technical input on multiple projectsDevelopment and/or review of department and organizational proceduresTechnical evaluation/direction of new opportunities within the BOA processPMC:Provides guidance on supplier complex material compliance declarations withrespect to their acceptability, validity and auditabilityIn collaboration with the PMC Team, assesses the third-party materialcompliance platform functions and services provided for material complianceagainst regulatory requirements and provides recommendations forimprovementsCoordinates with Business Units to assure existence of contractual coveragefor incoming "non-standard" customer material compliance requests. Incollaboration with the Legal/Contracts Department, assesses the languageand context of those customer requests against cited material regulations toassure continuity with and correct interpretation of those requestsSTRATEGIC:Develops compliance strategiesthat would be incorporated into both product andtechnology roadmapsProvides training on new and/or revised standards and directives andparticipation in process improvementsProvides a moderate to high level of mentoringParticipation in strategic planning processProvides a high level of customer/industry contact and industry awarenessOverall awareness and understanding of product portfolio, projects andtechnical issuesProvides guidance and leadership to the organization for issues related tonotified body requirements across all COE'sPMC:In collaboration with the Legal / Contracts Department, assesses new andupdated customer and supplier material compliance contract terms andconditions against the appropriate directives and regulations, andrecommends to Business Units, Global Supply Chain, and Contracts aWoodward accept / reject position, including suggested corrections /modifications where applicableIn collaboration with the PMC Team, formulates standard work and strategicimplementation processes for product material compliance consistent withWoodward PMC platforms and business systemsMaterials and Equipment Used:Personal ComputerGeneral office equipmentGeneral and specialized test equipmentWorking Environment / Physical Activities:General office areaOccasional travel for training coursesMechanical and/or electrical lab testing...
