Description of Work Unit
The Department of Human Development and Family Studies is one of eight academic programs in the College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS). Colorado State University (CSU) is Colorado’s land grant institution and holds the Doctoral/Research University – Extensive classification from the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. CSU is one of three core academic institutions that comprise the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI). Many faculty in Human Development and Family Studies engage in multidisciplinary research collaborations with faculty in other departments in CHHS, and other CCTSI institutions and affiliates. The Adult Development and Aging ProjecT (ADAPT) lab in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University (CSU) is looking for a postdoctoral research associate with interests and possibly previous experiences in psycho-social intervention research. The postdoctoral research associate will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of a new intervention program designed to change adults’ negative views on aging with the objective to promote behavior change. Primary responsibilities include supervising the execution of the study, assuring the scientific integrity of the intervention implementation and the quality of the collected data; overseeing the data management; and performing the main data analyses. These activities are performed in consultation and collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI). Additional responsibilities include assisting the PI with literature reviews, submission of protocols to the Institutional Review Board (IRB), preparing conference presentations, progress reports and manuscripts for publication, and assisting with the development of new grant applications. The postdoctoral research associate also has access to existing data sets to perform data analyses and prepare manuscripts for publication. The PI will support the successful candidate in further developing his or her own research interests in areas related to the overall project.
Required Job Qualifications
Must have doctoral degree in psychology, human development and family studies, or related field.
Preferred Job Qualifications
Prior experience with intervention research, including experience with intervention methodology and intervention-specific statistical methods, is preferred. In addition, prior experience with grant development and grant writing is preferred.

Implementing the intervention program, including supervising participant recruitment and enrollment, communication with community-based collaborators, and coordinating the data collection. Project management, including supervision of data management in the lab and performing statistical analyses. Assisting with the submission of IRB protocols and safety monitoring during data collection. Contributing to the preparation of conference presentations and progress reports, and the preparation of manuscripts for publication.
