DescriptionPosition PurposeThe Operations Engineer 1 (level 1) reports to Technical Leadership andprovides manufacturing expertise to solve difficult problems and continuouslyimprove our manufacturing organization and/or supply base. Supportsproduction from a technical standpoint.Essential FunctionsSupports technical solutionsRecognizes problems that are beyond capabilities and is learning from theexperts in the areaSupports new capital equipment purchases and implementationSupports cell layouts and process improvement initiativesGeneral understanding of Six Sigma and lean tools to improve processesGeneral understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA)concepts and supports new product introductionRepresents the company with our customersSupports updates to management on operations statusLearns the steps involved to incorporate process improvementsSupports the manufacturing floor for any process related questionsCreates and maintains process documentation and updates work orderdocumentationSupports implementation of basic engineering changesAdheres to applicable Quality System requirementsSupports Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, and Control PlansLearns from more senior Operations Engineers.
