DESIGNER MECHANICAL - AIFRAME SYSTEMS DRAKE CAMPUS (1800824)Position Purpose:Immediate level designer. Works with some latitude and minimal supervision,performs diverse and intermediate level design assignments. Typically works inan NPI environment where creative mechanization of design concepts are turnedinto new product/tooling.We are seeking aerospace background and prefer commercial aviation experience. Additionally, we need hydraulics experience within actuation systems.There will be extensive travel to Duarte, CA during the initial months inthe role for on-boarding and training.Essential Functions:Ability to understand and apply Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing orInternational equivalent at anadvanced level.Must be able to3D model several complex devices and smaller housings.Must be able to performintermediate level linear stackup studies.Solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.Other Functions:May serve as administrator for CAD and PDM software is it relates to users.May check, mentor and direct drafters and designers in proper techniques andapplication of GD&T.Materials and Equipment Used:PC and related equipment.Working Environment / Physical Activities:Work is generally performed in a normal office environment; however, thejob may take the member into various areas of the plant where there ispossible exposure to noise, chemical solutions, dust and temperaturesabove 80 degrees F.Some travel may be required.QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Advanced CAD software skills andcomputer skills including ERP systems.Demonstrated commitment to quality and professionalism. Participates incontinuous improvement activities related to position.Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability toeffectively interact with all levels of the organization.
