Monitor all product movements into and out of the terminal including responsibilities noted below. The level of complexity and responsibility increases with the job grade level.
Perform mainline operations of pumping units and operate refined product pumps
Perform product sampling, run samples for analysis on in house lab equipment; measure location physical stock, meters, and additive variances.
Gauge products transferred to and from tanks, trucks, rail cars, and pipelines.
Perform valve lineups, switch and tank changes as required to move products in and out of storage.
Work diligently and follow all safety requirements to prevent product contamination, spills and avoid product loss.
Input information into computer programs and other system applications as required.
Maintain location appearance, repair and replace equipment, maintain facility in exemplary compliance.
Perform tank inspections, make analyses of tank contents and prepare records as required, make routine daily inspection of facilities.
Assist drivers and customers, perform truck rack operations, and rail car offloading duties.
Perform general maintenance responsibilities as directed, and assist area technicians as requested.
Oversee contractors and process invoices
Work in a safe manner, following company safety policies and programs.
Responsible for other projects and assignments as directed.
One to three years industry experience is preferred. College degree is preferred. Basic mathematical ability and understanding is required to successfully perform tank measurements, read gauges, set up product transfers into and out of tanks. This includes the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, convert fractions to decimals and vice versa, etc. Candidate must be able to perform some work at heights. Requires knowledge of refined product characteristics, measurement and safe handling practices. Must show demonstrated competency in all aspects of operations after 180 days of hire. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications. Responsibility and experience required increases with level of operator.
License: Valid drivers license to drive Company vehicle.
Education: Either a college degree from an accredited vocational/technical school or three years experience in a related field is preferred.
Basic Skills: Knowledge of refined product characteristics, measurement and safe handling practices. Demonstrated competency in all aspects of operations required after 180 days of hire.
Working Conditions: driving Company vehicles to perform duties; working outside and inside; exposure to extreme heat and cold; exposure to petrochemical hazards; and exposure to dangerous equipment.
Physical Demands: hearing, seeing (acuity, near, far, and depth), talking sitting, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs), climbing (approx 70 ft), balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, and wearing personal protective equipment. Occasional pushing/pulling in excess of 50 lbs.
Additional requirements: Regular attendance; the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and truck drivers; the ability to work in stressful conditions; the ability to adapt and respond in changing circumstances and changing environmental conditions; the ability to work independently with remote supervision; the ability to use a personal computer with the Windows(R) operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive email, and access information posted on the Company's intranet; and the ability to work at the assigned job site. Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, periodic overtime, and on a call-out basis when needed.
